Passionfruit Marketing Strategic Plans published
Marketing plans have been developed for APIA for the initial activity once the marketing levy has been initiated. An overall framework for the first three years has been developed as well as more detail for the first year.

APIA AGM 2009 notice and member election forms. The Field day will be on 25th near Daintree.
The APIA Annual General Meeting 2009 will be held on Friday 24th July at Rydges Esplanade Resort in Cairns. Registration commences at 12.30 for a 1pm meeting start. The annual levy payers meeting will follow on directly at 3pm.

Assistance available for training and projects to get ready for climate change
Two new government programs are available to assist with training to adapt and respond to the impacts of climate change - FarmReady reimbursement grants up to $1500 and FarmReady Industry grants up to $80,000 to undertake projects.
The closing date for applications is the 17th of February 2009.

Rovral witholding period approved at 1 day finally
Bayer Crop Science have indicated that the withholding period for Rovral Liquid Fungicide use in passionfruit has now been approved at 1 day (from August 20, 2008). The new image label is expected to be released soon.Well done Keith Paxton for chasing this one down and many thanks to Gary Artlett of Growcom for all of your help!

New APIA Executive Committee sworn in...
Two new members were sworn in to assist with the running of the APIA Executive Committee at the recent AGM held in Kingscliff, NSW.
Ken Hopp and Peter Griffiths will add new blood to the committee and enhance representation of the major growing areas of Far North Queensland and Bundaberg respectively.
